Tokyo Revengers Season 2 release date
The Winter 2023 anime season’s January 2023 release date for Tokyo Revengers Season 2 has been
announced. What does the impending conclusion of the Tokyo Revengers manga imply for the anime TV
program series, though?
Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen is the official title of the second season in Japanese. The official English title of the anime follow-up, according to
BD/DVD distributor Pony Canyon, will be Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown.
Since voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki withdrew from Tokyo Revengers 2, Draken will now be portrayed by Japanese voice actor Masaya Fukunishi
(Blue Period, Haikyuu!!). Fukunishi will also play Draken in a two-disc Blu-Ray box set that will be released in 2022 as well as a July 2022 repeat
of Season 1 in Japan.
A new key image and the second teaser trailer for Tokyo Revengers Season 2 revealed the 2023 debut date.
Since the action occurs around Christmas, it is likely that the title Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown alludes to the Black Dragon story arc of
the manga series. Since the Christmas Showdown and Valhalla arcs are around the same length, Tokyo Revengers Season 2 will most likely be a
single cour anime season.
You might be wondering what a “cour” is. A “cour” is a three-month period of TV programming based on the actual seasons, which are often made
up of 10 to 13 episodes.
Fortunately, there are more than enough chapters in the manga to complete Tokyo Revengers Season 3. In reality, there should be more than one
season and Tokyo Revengers Season 5 may contain the conclusion.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 teaser trailer
At the Tokyo Revengers special event “Tokyo Manjikai Tachikawa Touring” on December 18, 2021, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown was
announced. With the exception of the Draken voice actor, who will be replaced, all of the major Japanese voice actors were there.
Anime news leakers have also been alleging that the second season was already in early development even before the second season was formally
confirmed. Sugoi LITE tweeted on December 3, 2021, “Tokyo Revengers TV Anime Season 2 in development. Toman anime hashtag. SPY tweeted,
“Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Confirmed,” on December 12, 2021.
Both Sugoi LITE and SPY have a proven track record for generating accurate anime news leaks. Furthermore, this was not the first time that leakers of anime news claimed a second season was on the way.
A separate leaker said Tokyo Revengers 2 was already in the early stages of production back in May 2021. Since the anime itself had done well and
the manga had broken records, it was simple to trust such leaks at the time. (For further information, see the section below on release date
forecasts.)
To commemorate the production choice, a unique teaser trailer was made public.
The talent management company of voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who had portrayed Draken in the first season, had already implicitly confirmed
the Tokyo Revengers Season 2 anime before the Christmas Showdown arc had been formally revealed.
Following the reports that Suzuki had an affair with a female employee in July 2021, the voice actor and his wife, LiSA, began to experience ill
health, and the voice actor earlier declared his withdrawal from all entertainment industry activities. After the issue became known, Suzuki was
admitted to the hospital, but LiSA allegedly visited him there and professed her forgiveness.
Many anime fans were worried that Suzuki would not return to his role as Ryuguji Ken aka Draken in Tokyo Revengers 2 despite having
significantly changed his lifestyle and seemed to be making amends with his wife.
In response, Suzuki’s talent management agency hinted at the existence of Tokyo Revengers Season 2 to Yahoo News Japan.
On December 12, 2021, the representatives said that “the second season of the anime has already started production and an announcement is
anticipated to be made by the end of this year.” But there are now no plans to deploy Mr. Suzuki, which will be disappointing for both him and his
supporters.
Suzuki’s management office was unable to clarify whether or not Suzuki will reprise his role as Draken at the moment. Suzuki “will be replaced
after consultations between the office and the committee,” the official website stated on December 26, 2021. The Christmas Showdown storyline
will continue to be produced in collaboration with the Tokyo Revengers cast and crew.
In the upcoming Ultraman Season 2 anime TV series on Netflix, the voice actor had previously left his role as Ultraman Taro. Suzuki withdrew
from the lead role of Anos Voldigoad in The Misfit of Demon King Academy Season 2 anime in early December 2021. In the upcoming anime
sequels My Next Life as a Villainess and Free! In the Final Stroke, Suzuki also voices characters.
Suzuki does vocals for the band OLDCODEX as well. OLDCODEX made the announcement that the unit would be disbanding after 12 years on
December 26, 2021. The theme song for the Free! The Final Stroke Part 2 film, which was released in the spring of 2022, was their final
performance.

By highlighting the Bloody Halloween battleground and including characters like Kazutora Hanemiya in the early key art, the official website lets fans of the manga know that the anime’s first season will extend at least as far as the Valhalla narrative arc. Image courtesy of Studio LIDEN FILMS
Tokyo Revengers Season 2’s studio and core cast haven’t been formally revealed yet. The majority
of the personnel, though, allegedly won’t change. Since some anime fans think the TV show
requires better animation in the next seasons, this topic is highly divisive.

Why we predicted that the Tokyo Revengers Season 2 release date was in 2023
The precise release date for Tokyo Revengers Season 2 has not been formally affirmed by Kodansha, Studio LIDEN FILMS, or any other
organization connected to the anime’s development as of the most recent update. However, a Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown sequel’s
formal confirmation of production has been made. According to the June 2022 teaser, the second season will debut in the winter of 2023, as
predicted by Anime Geek.
The pertinent details will be added to this post once the news is formally confirmed.
It’s nearly equally stunning that there was no official notification when Episode 24 was published as it is that it had a cliffhanger conclusion.
However, there were many grounds to anticipate the sequel early on.

Anime news leaker ChifuyuMatsun0 stated on May 18, 2021, that “Tokyo Revengers’ second season is already in progress. LIDENFILMS
discovered gold despite low (output).
Even though, it was a fair assertion given the timing of the manga sales claims, even if no leaked photographs or other source proof was offered.
There won’t be official statistics anytime soon, but you can take it for granted, ChifuyuMatsun0 also noted.
The news of an anime sequel was not unexpected given how well-liked the Tokyo Revengers manga has become as a result of the anime. Around 8.5
million copies of the manga were in print as of March 2021. The series’ popularity increased to 14.5 million copies a month later, in April 2021.
With a total sales of 2,702,408 copies, the Tokyo Revengers manga led the Oricon sales list in May 2021. Jujutsu Kaisen sold 1,655,415 copies
during that time period, Demon Slayer 600,366, My Hero Academia 327,318 copies, and Attack On Titan 319,081 copies.
According to the official Twitter account, the manga sold 15 million copies by May 7, 2021, and 17 million copies a week later. The official account celebrates selling 20 million copies on June 3, 2021.
The official Toman account celebrated selling 25 million copies a month later. The milestone of 32 million copies was commemorated on July 21, 2021.
