CHAINSAW MAN EPISODE 2: RELEASE DATE AND TIME
On Tuesday, October 18th, Crunchyroll will stream the second episode of the Chainsaw Man anime series in
every country.
The second episode of MAPPA’s new series will debut for simultaneous global streaming at the following foreign
times, according to Crunchyroll’s confirmation:
- Pacific Time – 9 AM
- Central Time – 11 AM
- Eastern Time – 12 PM
- British Time – 5 PM
- European Time – 6 PM
- India Time – 9:30 PM
- Philippine Time – 12 AM
- Australia Central Daylight Time – 2:30 AM
The official Japanese website has not yet published a synopsis of the episode as of this writing, but it will do so in the coming days.
A QUICK review OF EPISODE 1
The first episode of Chainsaw Man showed a young man named Denji and Pochita residing in an abandoned
shelter. Denji, who is struggling to pay off a debt of 38 million yen, has taken on different odd jobs and even
“donated” parts of his body to make some additional income.
Denji quickly engages a crimson squid-like demon with several eyes and a vertical mouth, and the opening
credits begin to roll. Out of all of his means of income, devil hunting pays the highest at about 300,000 Yen.
Denji is exposed to working for the Yakuza, hunting devils for basically nothing. Despite his abhorrent
poverty, he hopes for a better future for Pochita and himself, including a romantic relationship.

Then, we learn how Denji and Pochita initially met. Denji’s father left him a sizable Yakuza debt when he passed
away when he was a little boy, which he has been repaying ever since his funeral. While his father was still alive
and close, Denji encountered an injured Pochita, and after offering some of his blood to help the cute Chainsaw
Devil heal, the two forged a friendship/contract.
Back in the present, the Yazkuza have persuaded Denji to enter a closed-down factory on the pretense that a devil
is hiding inside. Yes, there is, but it turns out to be the Zombie Devil, with whom the Yakuza has a contract for
demonic strength.
